Thermally Expanded Core (TEC) Fiber
The OETEC-100 TEC fiber is made by locally heating (in a prescisely contolled enviorment) the standrad fiber such that the mode filed diameter (MFD) is expanded. Fundamental mechanism behind this process is thermal diffusion of dopant ion. Since 'V-number' remain constant in a thermal diffusion, TEC fiber made from a single-mode fiber is single-mode in nature.
